The following is notes and tips I've applied recently in my successful job search. Mindset via Podcast In 2013 I was lacking in a social life and had trouble adapting to a new country and new dynamic as a father. I simply went onto iTunes top ten podcast and stumbled upon the School of Greatness by Lewis Howes and The One You Feed. These two podcast substituted for my lack of community, and provided refined mindset and positivity to keep a sustainable attitude. If you are the average of your 5 closest friends, you can also mold your mindset to be the average of the 5 podcast you listened to. The people in my group may repeat themselves and keep it cheery, but who wants a Chicken Little. Trust me I’ve worked with a Chicken Little, once that’s shit is airborn it changes direction and comes your way, and that’s an itch you don’t want to scratch. Standout 2.0 I picked this up at Dubai airport on a lark, and this book had a great impact on my growth. There was a colleagu...
So for the poor insufferable parents who've endured Frozen or Maona, here is the silver lining.
I met a fellow American in Paris, whose son was stuck on Moana recently. Of course, the songs popped in my head and it reminded me of this phenomenal video showing "How Far I'll Go" and the lyrics are sung across the globe, but in each country's own language.

Then it struck me. DISNEY = KIDS = SMALL BITES = LANGUAGE LEARNING HACK.
I'm now going to put AppleTV/Netflix to good use, and start watching some Disney flicks in French.
I will let you know the success, but what's the harm...you already know the plot, probably the lyrics and maybe even the dialogue.
Another thing I noticed was watching Narcos in a foreign language. When staying at my In-laws we stumbled on Narcos and it was a fun way to unwind and for my father in law to relive his Spanish speaking glory days. However, this meant I was watching a show in Spanish/French (with English Subtitles for the Spanish dialogue). My French is strong enough to follow, but the show had this strange effect. Somehow switching between French and Spanish, it made it easier for me somehow to learn from the French, additionally either due to the binging or this weird lingual scenario, My ear trained on the Spanish quite well and I was absorbing key phrases and dusting off long buried Spanish.
This got me wondering, I would love to take the screenplay/script from Narcos analyze the metrics of key phrases and turn it into language learning material. When you hear the same sentence, again and again, you can remember the phrase as a sentence, carry over the grammar and help dissect the structure and cases. Especially for Spanish, whose grammar would make this palatable. So some summer when I get the script of Narcos and gobs of free time, maybe just maybe we will see if this plays out.
